Having retained their apartment in Manhattan, where they raised a family, the next stage of their lives saw them living between CT and NYC, enjoying the best each had to offer — but it was time to fulfill their ambition for their first love.
They gradually decided to renovate the apartment and add a newly acquired adjacent apartment to its space. We were able to concentrate on weaving together four significant spaces, desiring, above all, to compose an attractive and smoothly functioning whole design.
A living room was redefined by a thick wall of library cabinetry formed around a display of career materials, favored pieces of collection, and a functioning fireplace. A portal through this wall is the connection to other parts of the apartment. One of these parts is a redefined bedroom, now also an office and musical study. Functionally equipped, it includes a Murphy Bed to allow for occasional guests. The former master bedroom is refurbished with a new bath configuration, lively with details. A new master bedroom occupies the full space of added studio apartment. Refurbished and reappointed, it includes a new dressing area and also sports a redesigned bath.
The results create an enlivened apartment both for enjoying the city and for the pleasures afforded by dedicated careers.
